Your Patient Journey

From First Appointment to Ongoing Care

Most patients come to Lapeer Women’s Health with a symptom, a concern, or a referral from their primary care doctor. Here is what happens from that first appointment through treatment and ongoing care.

1
Before You Arrive
Scheduling & New Patient Intake

Schedule online or by phone. After scheduling, you receive a Phreesia link to complete intake forms before your appointment — medical history, medications, insurance, and reason for visit. Completing them in advance means the appointment time is spent on you, not on paperwork.

2
Your First Appointment
History, Examination & Listening

New patient appointments are 45–60 minutes. Dr. Andrei begins by reviewing your history and listening to your concerns without rushing. Prior records and imaging are reviewed if available. A pelvic examination is performed when clinically indicated. You leave knowing what Dr. Andrei found, what she thinks is happening, and what she recommends next.

3
Evaluation
Testing & Imaging When Needed

If additional information is needed — to reach a diagnosis or characterize a finding before recommending treatment — Dr. Andrei orders the appropriate testing. Not every visit requires additional testing. When it does, she explains what is being ordered, why, and what she expects to learn from it.

4
Diagnosis
A Clear Answer — Not a Maybe

Dr. Andrei tells you directly what she believes is causing your symptoms, what the testing shows, and what the diagnosis means for you. If the picture is not yet clear, she tells you that too — and explains what additional evaluation will help clarify it. You are never left with unanswered questions or vague reassurances.

5
Treatment
A Personalized Plan — Medical, Procedural, or Surgical

Treatment ranges from medication management and hormonal therapy to in-office procedures and minimally invasive surgery — depending on the diagnosis and your goals. Dr. Andrei presents the options, explains the tradeoffs, and recommends a course of action. The decision is always yours. If surgery is recommended, Dr. Andrei performs it herself at one of her affiliated hospitals.

Ongoing Care
Follow-Up, Surveillance & Annual Care

After treatment, Dr. Andrei provides follow-up care — monitoring your response, adjusting medications, reviewing pathology and test results, and conducting post-operative visits. Many patients continue with Dr. Andrei annually for their well-woman exam, using Lapeer Women’s Health as their primary gynecologic care provider year after year.
